SeedProd Review 2022

What is SeedProd?

SeedProd is a WordPress plugin designed to help you build custom web pages without having to code them yourself. In fact, there is zero coding involved.

The plugin was co-founded by Syed Balkhi, who now has a fascinating suite of WordPress resources. Syed is also behind WPBeginner, OptinMonster, MonsterInsights, WPForms, RafflePress, and more.

SeedProd Logo

When the plugin was first launched it went by a different name. Coming Soon Pro. It started out as a plugin for building coming soon and maintenance mode pages.

Today, it has grown into one of the best landing page plugins in the WordPress realm.

An Inside Look at SeedProd's Core Features

SeedProd provides many features that will make you fall in love with it.

Let's take a peek at what you get with SeedProd:

The Drag and Drop Builder

When it comes to WordPress page builders, a drag and drop editor is essential. It's what makes creating beautiful content so easy. Without them you would need expert coding skills to craft attractive web pages.

SeedProd's interface is clean to say the least. See the GIF below:

SeedProd Page Builder GIF

As you can see, the left-side toolbar is where all the magic happens. This is where your customization options are. It's where you'll have control over typography, alignment, colours, margins and spacing.

You can also do the actual content writing on the sidebar, but it's much easier to just write on the page itself.

What about elements other than text? I'm glad you asked...

The Content Design Elements

SeedProd's content elements are called blocks. They come in three main categories:

  • Standard - which includes your essential elements like headlines, paragraphs/text, lists, video, and images.
  • Advanced - which includes premium elements like optin forms, pricing tables, countdown timers, and social buttons.
  • Woocommerce - which includes online store elements like shopping cart and checkout.

There's also a widget category where you can add WordPress widgets.

Peep the images below to see the full collection:

SeedProd Content Blocks

SeedProd also has what they call sections, which are pre-built elements of certain parts of a web page. These sections include:

  • Header/Footer
  • Call to Action
  • FAQ
  • Features

The full list of section categories are shown in the image below:

SeedProd Sections 1
SeedProd Sections 2

Let's pick one out of the bunch and see what to expect from the page sections.

Call to Action sections currently has more than 20 templates. You can use any page section to promote things like your product and mailing list.

Here's a little showcase of the plugin's CTA templates:

SeedProd CTA Sections 1
SeedProd CTA Sections 2

Each section category includes between 3-25 templates that are highly customizable.

Plenty of Email Marketing Integrations

While SeedProd provides a subscriber management feature, it doesn't yet support outgoing mail.

To nurture your mailing list you will still need to use the email marketing tool of your choice.

But no worries. SeedProd likely has integration services for the software you use. These tools include:

  • Aweber
  • ConvertKit
  • Drip
  • GetResponse
  • Mailchimp
  • MailerLite
  • And more!

SeedProd also integrates with Zapier and the hundreds more that come along with it.

You can see the full selection of integrates below:

Integrating with these tools is as easy as copy and pasting something from one place to another. All integrations are API-based, which means all you need to do is enter an API Key into the proper box and you're good to go!

SP Integrations 3

What else can you do with SeedProd, you ask?

Build Custom Sections Using the Theme Builder

Something that's become quite popular in the WordPress community is the theme builder.

Theme builders can help you create unique website designs without having to do any coding.

With SeedProd's theme builder you get to build just about any type of page and section on your site.

The full list of buildable sections are shown below:

SP Theme Builder Sections

You can set conditions for everything you create with the theme builder. Conditions like to show only on certain parts of your site or to show on every single page.

SP Theme Builder Sections 2

The theme builder uses the same frontend editor you use when creating landing pages. There's only one difference...

SP Theme Builder Template Tags

Template Tags are added to the content builder's toolbar. It includes 12 blocks.

After looking through SeedProd's theme builder I found it quite difficult to build my theme.

I can see that the features are there. But what it needs is an interface that walks you through the entire process. A setup wizard.

ALL The Little Things

SeedProd does so many other things.

Here are several more features I found that the plugin does well:

  • Subscriber Management - most plugins don't offer this feature. SeedProd tracks everyone that enters their emails into any of your landing page optin forms. However, you can't contact them yet.
  • Customization Options - each content element has many customizations.
  • Domain Mapping - you can connect your landing pages to a different domain.
  • Stock Images - there are hundreds of stock images you can put on your pages.
  • Compatibility - the plugin works with any WordPress theme.
  • Mobile-Friendly - all your pages will look great for mobile users. You can also preview your site for mobile so you can see what your page will look like before you hit publish.
  • Lightweight and Fast - the plugin is well-designed and will not hurt your website loading speed.

8 Types of Landing Pages You Can Create with SeedProd

SeedProd offers landing page templates for many types of pages. However, you can create any type of page once you get comfortable with SeedProd's page builder.

But let's focus on the 8 types of page templates they do offer.

1. Lead Generation Pages

Generating leads/building a mailing list is an important task for blogging because it opens up additional monetization possibilities such as creating your own product or service.

Landing pages play a big part in converting your traffic into subscribers.

With SeedProd you can create high-quality lead generation pages with ease.

Currently, there are 30 page templates aimed to generate leads. They each have a different theme behind them like fitness or coaching or real estate. But you can customize them to your liking.

This one for example is about marketing:

SP Templates 2

With a few edits here and few more there, it's a page about an intermittent fasting eBook.

SP Template 3

There are also templates for squeeze pages. Which are smaller lead pages that usually feature only the headline and the optin form.

2. Sales Pages

Sales pages and lead generation pages are very similar. So similar, in fact, you can use a sales page template for lead generation.

For example, let's say your signup incentive for subscribers is an eBook. Sales pages tend to include feature highlight sections, FAQs, testimonials, and a few calls to action. All these are relevant for lead generation.

SeedProd offers close to 25 prebuilt templates for sales pages. Like with the lead pages, there's a different concept behind each one. Food, fitness, and automotive for example.

But SeedProd makes it so easy to create quality sales pages, regardless of the template.

3. Webinar Signup Pages

If you're trying to sell something, whether it's your own or you're an affiliate, creating a webinar is one of the best ways to generate high quality leads.

A single webinar can last for a while. If you pick a good enough topic hold several webinars with the same video.

SeedProd currently offers nearly 20 templates for webinar pages. They all require minimal editing.

4. Coming Soon and Maintenance Mode Pages

Before SeedProd was a landing page machine the plugin's main focus was coming soon and maintenance mode pages. It even went by a different name: Coming Soon Pro.

There are currently more than 35 templates for coming soon pages and they are clean.

This is a great place to utilize the countdown timer block.

Some templates already have them in.

SP Templates 4

As for maintenance mode, there are over 25 templates. They're all pretty straightforward.

They all allow you to add external links so you can link out to things like your social media. You can even add a signup form and collect emails.

5. Custom Login Page

If you run a membership program on your site this feature is for you.

There are currently 9 templates for login pages.

6. Custom 404 Pages

When a visitor lands on a 404 page it generally means that the intended page might have a broken link.

It doesn't happen a lot but it's good to have a custom 404 page so that you can send visitors that land on it to your most important pages.

Normally, you would need a separate plugin for this feature but SeedProd has it built in.

7. Thank You Pages

When a subscriber confirms their subscription you can redirect to a thank you page where you can give them a friendly message.

The best way to use your thank you page, however, is to use it as your subscriber incentive page where they'll be able to download their freebies.

SeedProd has close to 30 thank you page templates.

8. Checkout Pages

If you have your own product, whether it's digital or physical, you can sell it on your site using SeedProd's built-in features.

While SeedProd doesn't have checkout page templates, it supports WooCommerce which is an open source platform for WordPress users that create stores on their sites.

SeedProd has 9 WooCommerce blocks that include add-to-cart, checkout, and product grids.

SP WooCommerce

Turning on Different Page Modes

Setting up maintenance mode doesn't work automatically. You'll have to activate it.

SeedProd requires activation for 4 of their page modes:

  • Coming Soon
  • Maintenance
  • Login
  • 404

Turning on Coming Soon mode, for example, is easy. All you'll need to do is hit the toggle on button.

SD Page Modes

From there, you can start creating your page.

SeedProd Pros and Cons

SeedProd has a ton of great things going for it. But like everything in life, it isn't perfect. There are a few things they need to improve upon and I'm sure they're working on providing users with the best landing page plugin possible.

Pros

  • Clean page builder with an easy to use drag and drop interface.
  • Great selection of content blocks and sections that make page creation fun and easy.
  • Provides templates for several types of landing pages.
  • Build different sections of a website using the theme builder.
  • Create an online store or sell your own products with the WooCommerce integration.
  • Connect your pages with your favourite email marketing software.
  • Access to millions of stock photos.
  • Edit your page settings (meta data) from within the page builder.
  • Lightweight and mobile-friendly.

Cons

  • The landing page template library needs a small upgrade. I'd like to see more templates.
  • BASIC plan isn't really worth it since you can't integrate with email marketing tools.
  • Moving content blocks that are already placed is a little buggy.
  • If you want to choose a different template you will have to start all over.
  • You can manage your subscribers from within WordPress but I don't see a point if you can't send them emails.
  • NO A/B TESTING.
